Paddlefish Snagging Season Opens May 1 North Dakota's paddlefish snagging season opens May 1 and is scheduled to continue through the end of the month. However, the season has closed early the last three seasons, leaving some people left holding paddlefish tags without ever wetting a line in the Yellowstone or Missouri rivers.

I have really been enjoying Doug's blog and learning that the more I know, the more I need to learn. I never knew they actually had a season to snag certain kinds of fish. Why is that? The only thing I have ever seen in regards to snagging is a big regulation that says NO SNAGGING!
